Bass Metals Ltd (ASX: BSM) is focused on gold and base metal production and exploration with operations in Tasmania, Australia. Its key production area is the 100% owned Que River base metals project, mined in alliance with Mancala Pty Ltd. Stage 1 production at Que River commenced in September 2007, comprising ore extraction from two open pits for a total resource inventory of 115,900 tons. Que River ore is processed at the nearby Rosebery Plant under a binding Ore Sales & Purchase Agreement with the plant’s  owner/operator, Zinifex Limited. A key focus for Bass Metals’ exploration activities has been the high grade polymetallic (zinc-lead-copper-silver-gold) targets surrounding the Hellyer Mine in northwest Tasmania, which has a published pre-mining mineral resource of 16.9 million tons grading.
